Wahab Riaz is a left-arm pace bowler from Pakistan.


He showed a brilliant fast bowling performance in the quarterfinals of the 2015 World Cup in which he got the wickets of David Warner and Australian captain Michael Clarke. There was also two dropped catches in his bowling. Pakistan ended up losing the match by 6 wickets, but his bowling spell was lauded by Cricket pundits. Wahab Riaz and Australia's Shane Watson were fined for their verbal exchange in the match. West Indies great Brian Lara, while praising Riaz for his terrific spell said he would like to meet. In response, Riaz said he is honored to be praised by Lara and has invited him to Pakistan.

A day after the quarter-final exit of Pakistan, Wahab Riaz apologized to the fans of Pakistan for the team's failure. He said that he has no complaints against teammate Rahat Ali who dropped a simple catch to give Shane Watson a life in the quarter-final match. Wahab said that he valued the wicket of South African batsman Hashim Amla the most in the tournament.
